And with a competitor like Game Dev Tycoon already well established, the task was not easy to stand out. The German studio Eggcode Games, consisting of only two full-time developers (Christian Pohl & Stefan Pohl), has been working on the use of the Unity engine for his project. Similar story again to Game Dev Tycoon whose studio was founded by two independent developers (although the technology used is different for the two games, Mad Games Tycoon using Unity, and Game Dev Tycoon using only Javascript). But, through a regular update (almost weekly), the game is quickly equipped with new features and bug fixes that delight users.

Although the updates are made in the language of Shakespeare, and that these are slow to be translated, the developers are in permanent listening of the players. Similarly, the game will often advise you on what is missing: heating, fan, plants, garbage cans, and so many other small objects that populate your studio.

Incidentally, the gameplay is based on the management of rooms. Each room has a specificity and specific options. All objects are virtually buildable in all rooms, with the exception of a few that are specific to a room (including the production of box versions of your games, or server rooms). The management of these rooms, and the employees who work there, is extremely easy: a simple drag’n drop (drag / drop) of an employee in the room where we want to see him work, and it starts immediately at work, provided you have a work desk available! Employees only work on offices, so it is not difficult to predict in advance and anticipate the space for future employees (it is possible to increase the size of the studio by buying new premises ).

You will also see your employees work, but also walk in your studios for various tasks: pee break, break soda, photocopies, etc. This gives a little life, and ambiance to your studio. Although the pleasure to see them do not go, and is sometimes a little annoying when they get up every two minutes to wash their hands. Suffice to say that you will have to go slowly accessories at the beginning of the game, to keep a maximum in station your little hands.

Beside, we find other interesting features. Game engines, of course. But also the ability to make updates, and choose the content of these updates. This boosts slightly, depending on the choice, the sales of your game. The presence of a software protection management is also worth noting, although it does not have a very important place. It is possible, once equipped with the necessary equipment (production room and storage room: it is expensive but if it is well managed it is the key of the profit), to produce oneself the created games, without going through an editor. You will have to choose the packaging, the accessories, and especially: the price. Then, the production starts. You can choose the release date, to take a little advance and anticipate sales. You choose the quantity to produce, and then everything turns on its own. Be careful not to produce too much, at the risk of having unsold stock. But be careful not to produce too much! Otherwise, you may miss nice profits … MMOs are here too. You can open a server room, and buy some. Depending on the number of players, you will have to buy new ones to avoid saturation. Knowing that if you have no MMOs on the market, you can put them “Offline” to save maintenance costs.
